Zalika Reid-Benta

Zalika Reid-Benta is Toronto-based writer whose debut short story collection, Frying Plantain, was a finalist for the Forest of Reading Evergreen Award, the Danuta Gleed Literary Award, the Rakuten Kobo Emerging Writer Prize, and the Trillium Book Award and was longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. Zalika received an M.F.A. in fiction from Columbia University and is an alumnus of the Banff Centre Writing Studio. She is currently working on a young-adult fantasy novel drawing inspiration from Jamaican folklore.
