John Barton

John Barton’s twelfth collection of poetry, Lost Family: A Memoir, is in contention for the 2021 Derek Walcott Prize. His other books include For the Boy with the Eyes of the Virgin: Selected Poems, Seminal: The Anthology of Canada’s Gay-Male Poets, We Are Not Avatars: Essays, Memoirs, Manifestos, and The Essential Douglas LePan, winner of a 2020 eLit Award. He lives in Victoria, where he is the fifth City of Victoria Poet Laureate.
