What (Short) Stories Can Do

Come and join four authors of literary fiction as their read from their work and discuss what (short) stories can do. If a novel or a novella can patiently build up a whole world, variously real and imagined, for someone to dwell or wander in at length, what can shorter narratives do? What might the more compressed timespace/spacetime of short-storytelling allow for or enable? What might the possibilities and pleasures of a smaller storyworld be—for writer and reader alike?
