There is often the question: “What is poetry?”; and its corollary, “What makes poetry, poetry?” In this 4-week workshop we will try to sort out the second half of this issue, discussing which elements are key to the construction of a poem, and how and when to use these elements, so that the writing is not just lineated prose. There will be plenty of opportunity to use these elements in poems written during the sessions. And at the end of the workshop, writers may submit up to 8 pages of poetry for instructor feedback.
